What is Difference between SPP and Non-SPP Program in Canada?

SPP & Non-SPP Program Canada

First of all what are SPP and Non-SPP. To start with the name, SPP stands for Student Partners Program. SPP was developed in partnership between the ACCC- Association of Canadian Community Colleges and CICCitizenship and Immigration Canada. Basically, it is an arrangement between some selected Canadian educational institutions and Canadian High Commission in India to provide the students with quick and easy study permit for the prospective students of participating institutions in Canada. The main motive of this program is to increase the number of student visa issued to Indian students and to make the admission and visa process more efficient.

When the aspirants are applying to the colleges of Canada, they have the option whether to choose SPP or not. The institutions participating under the SPP program, they accept Non-SPP applications, too. The thing is, the students are supposed to apply in the colleges which are falling under the list offering SPP. There are specific criteria to meet for the applicants; if they are meeting them then their applications may be considered under the program. It is recommended that the students should submit their application at least 3 months before the beginning of the academic course. Apart from that the applicant needs to undergo a mandatory medical examination before visa application by visiting one of the DMP – Designated Medical Practitioners in India

Why Study in Manitoba?

Manitoba -- Live and Study in the Heart of Canada!

Manitoba is located in the centre of Canada and at the very center of North America. By airplane it is approximately 2 to 3 hours to Manitoba's capital city of Winnipeg from either Vancouver, Toronto, or Chicago. The 1.1 million people in Manitoba are as culturally and ethnically diverse as any province in Canada. In some cases the people of Winnipeg can trace their immigrant heritage back many generations while others have recently arrived in Winnipeg and Canada. The diversity of Winnipeg and its tradition of welcoming new immigrants to the city ensured that Winnipeg is a city full of creative energy.

Manitoba -- Education Excellence at Every Level!

Manitoba has much to offer prospective students. We place a great deal of emphasis on quality education and demand nothing but the best. Our schools, colleges and universities welcome international students who wish to take advantage of the opportunities available here. Manitoba’s educational institutions have modern facilities and current information technology. Laboratories and research facilities are leading edge. To help international students adapt, most institutions offer courses in English as a Second Language (ESL) as well as support programs and services. Student associations or cultural clubs can put you in touch with others from your country who live in Manitoba.

Manitoba -- Reasonable Tuitions and Low Cost of Living Save You Money!

Reasonable tuition fees, rent, transportation costs and a favorable exchange rate on foreign currency make Manitoba an economical education option in comparison to other countries and to other cities and provinces in Canada. From utility bills to food, entertainment and recreation, our cost of living is affordable and our standard of living is high.

International students have many housing options, including home-stays (living with a Manitoba family), student residences, off-campus apartments and shared house rentals. Whatever you prefer, there’s an option that’s right for you. Public transportation costs are very affordable and for those who prefer their own vehicles, cars and insurance are reasonably priced.

Manitoba’s exceptional health care services are publicly funded and first-rate. For international students, medical insurance and access to health services are available at a reasonable cost.

Manitoba -- Opportunities to Work or Immigrate!

Pursuing post-secondary education in Manitoba offers benefits beyond the gift of learning. Earning a degree from Manitoba's universities or a one-year certificate or two-year diploma from a college in Manitoba entitles you to work in Canada for up to one year after graduation in a field related to your course of study.

The new Manitoba International Student Off-Campus Work Permit Pilot Project provides qualified, post-secondary academic program international students with the opportunity to work in Manitoba while they study. Contact the post-secondary MCIE members for additional information on this and other opportunities for you to work while you study in Manitoba (on-campus, cooperative education, volunteer).

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program is also supportive of international students who are qualified and committed to immigrating to the province of Manitoba.
