Express Entry is an online immigration application system
launched by Canada in January 2015 to process PR applications. Canadian Experience Class Program is
one of the programs listed under the express entry system. The Express entry
system is designed to project an applicant's probability of being economically
strong and successful in Canada. The CRS score is used as a cut-off point in
the Express Entry draws. It allows individuals to submit an express entry
profile and be considered as a skilled immigrant. Candidates with the highest
rankings are given an ITA (invitation to apply) for permanent residency.
How does the Express
Entry system work?
Once you fill the express entry profile, your application
will be ranked according to the CRS points system. If you fall inside the
cut-off score declared by the Express Entry system, you will be invited to
apply for PR. You will be given 90 days to apply for PR. Once your PR
application is through, it will be processed within 6 months approximately.
Following are 3
programs under the Express Entry system:
1. The Skilled
Worker Program - FSW
2. The Canadian
Experience Class - CEC
3. Provincial
Nominee Program - PNP
All of the above have their own list of plus and minus.
Let’s talk about Express Entry CEC –
Canadian experience class; it is a program allowing candidates with Canadian
work experience to file for PR. You need to have 1 year of full-time work experience
in Canada. An applicant must have had a legal study/work permit while working
or studying in Canada. One must meet the minimum level in English or French to
be selected for Express Entry CEC.
You will be allowed to live anywhere in the country except Quebec. You can seek
advice from the best immigration consultants regarding the CEC program and know more about it in detail.
They will provide you with a list of eligibility requirements set by the CIC.
Your work experience in Canada must fall in to skill level
O, A or B according to the NOC (National Occupational Classification) 2016. The
skill level O is for managerial jobs, skill level A is for professional jobs
and skill level B is for technical jobs; find out which level do your type of
work experience fall into. You have to work for an employer in Canada; Express Entry CEC does not accept
self-employment work experience. Most students go to Canada on students' visa;
switch on to the work permit and then file for PR under the Canadian Experience
Class.
All the CEC applications are processed under the Express
Entry system wherein the applicants can stay in Canada throughout the
application process as long as they are successful in maintaining their legal
visa status. Those who have gone back to their homeland or left Canada can
still apply for the Canadian Experience Class Program within 3 years of leaving their job. It is a great
opportunity for those who had to leave for their home country due to some kind
of emergency, can now get back to Canada and file for PR. If you are looking
